So, you want to become a Forrester?
The life of a Forrester isn't for everybody. And so we have a procedure we use in order to determine if an applicant is really what we are looking for in a Forrester, and more importantly, if the Forresters are what the applicant is looking for in a clan. We test a number of things during the application procedure, and which trait of yours we are testing is not necessarily always the one that it seems to be.

What does it take to be a Forrester?
When examining our applicants there are a number of things we look for. This is just a small selection:

Beliefs: First and foremost, our applicants must share our set of beliefs. If your beliefs are not ours, then becoming a Forrester will likely not prove to be the thrill that you hoped. It is in the interests of us and of yourself that we determine whether our clan is right for you before you become a part of it.<.P>

Knowledge: The tasks you receive during initiation are designed to let us know of how much of the world you know of. Forresters pride themself on knowing their way through almost all of the world's regions.

Maturity: Many of our members tend to be older and more mature. This tends to be due to our set of beliefs. If you are to become a Forrester you must behave in a manner which reflects well apon us. Obnoxious behaviour and bickering are not traits that we prize.

Minimum Requirements:
Before applying to become a Forrester, there are a few requirements you first must meet:
Class: Hunter.
Level: 25.
Age: 25.

Still want to be a Forrester?
Excellent! Well, our clanning procedure can be drawn out in a few easy steps. Read on!

Step 1:
Write an in character letter to the Forresters expressing your intention to apply for initiation. Quite often this letter will be the first that we have ever heard of you, so it would do you well while writing it to remember the old saying - first impressions last. What you put in this letter is up to you. Write anything that you feel will catch our eye and give you a better shot at clanning.

Step 2:
Get initiated. This step is for the Forrester Council to complete, but there are things that you can do to help its progress. We initiate the portion of the applications we find which we find suitable for our organisation. The more we see of you out and about, and the more we get to know you, the more likely we are to remember your name when delivering initiation passes. You will be told via mail if you made the initiation, and you will be required to have Forrester Initiate in your title at all times.

Step 3:
Three separate tasks must then be completed. You get these tasks from Forresters of rank 3 or higher. If you get a task you don't like, it must be completed nonetheless. When you have completed the 3 tasks and those 3 Forresters have posted their recommendations, you can move to the next step. Keep in mind that completing a task does not necessarily grant you a recommendation from that Forrester! Just as important as the result is the way an applicant conveys themselves while completing these tasks.

Step 4
To complete the last steps you will need the assistance of a council member. Firstly, one such member must interview you. I'm not about to tell you what they are going to ask you though - sorry. Just be yourself and if you are suited to the Forrester life, then all will go well.

Step 5:
The council will then give you one last task of their own. Once again, the completion of this task does not necessarily mean you will be clanned on the spot.

Step 6:
The last task to be completed before clanning is somewhat of a secret. I can say though, that if you have the skills required of a Forrester, then it shouldn't be a problem.

Step 7:
The last and most important step! Head to the Greenman Tavern and shout all Forresters within earshot an ale while giving yourself a congratulatory pat on the back.
