There are now many places where no nation claims ownership, where the only law is the law of the blade. These wildernesses have stewards however, and these stewards are known as the Forresters. The Forresters are an assembly of various individuals with differing attitudes and interests. However, they all share a love of the wilderness and a devotion to the protection of the Great Forest from the minions of Leafblighter and other men of evil. The Forrester philosophy is a set of values each closely related to the next - as each petal adds to the unity of the flower. In basic, but somewhat misleading terms, it can be summarized as balance, duty, orderliness, and the interconnectedness of all natural things. Growth in, and pursuit of this philosophy is a lifelong endeavor that each man and woman undertakes. The Forresters are not a Justice Clan, but they are men and women of justice. They owe no allegiance to the nations of the world and avoid the political jousting that is prevalent in many other clans. Though politically neutral, Forresters are not passive. They will rush to the aid of those in need, be they vigilant defenders of the Light, inexperienced wanderers, or confused city folk. The Great Forest is the domain of the Forresters. This massive expanse of wild wooded land is located between Saldaea and Andor. More specifically, the Great Forest is south of Irinjavar in Saldaea and north of Whitebridge in Andor. Within the Great Forest is Tree Top City, the private retreat of the Forresters. Tree Top City is actually a man-made construction of platforms, bridges, roosts, and huts built at a dizzying height in the massive oaks. Tree Top City itself is limited access, but the ground below, as well as the whole of the Great Forest, is open to all who respect nature. Minimally, Forresters are expected to be level 25 hunters that are 20 years of age. To be considered for entry, send a detailed letter to the clan via forum group mail. If this note is deemed acceptable, you will be contacted for an initial interview by a Forestleader within one to two weeks. If the clan is open, and the interview proceeds well, you may be accepted as a Forrester Initiate. If the clan is closed, you may opt to be placed on a waiting list. To be considered for admission as a full-fledged clan member, the Forrester Initiate must possess a personality and attitude that is compatible with the Forrester philosophy. Initiates must also obtain the recommendations of three active Forresters. These three clan members will judge the Initiate on their knowledge of the world, as well as their ability to survive in the wild, while continually evaluating their personality. The Initiate should be prepared for requests to lead the tester to different parts of the world, to find various items, and to protect the needy from murderous villains. Finally, the Initiate can expect a final test and interview with one of the Forestleaders. Those who can successfully navigate this difficult and sometimes lengthy clanning process will be rewarded with entry into a Brotherhood that is much more than simply an assembly of like minded woodsmen. |
